Inside the Kitchen: Meet the Southlake Town Square Chefs Serving our Community
May 20, 2020

Take a sneak peek inside the kitchens at some of your favorite Town Square restaurants and get to know the chefs!

We’re so appreciative of the hard work and dedication they have put toward making sure our families have wonderful meals during the quarantine.

Meet Chef Mauricio Baltazar from TruFire Kitchen & Bar

Q. How did you get your start in cooking?

I grew up cooking with my parents. When I got older I got a few restaurant jobs and really loved it.

Q. How long have you been at TruFire?

I’ve been at TruFire for 12 years now.

Q. What’s the most popular menu item you are selling right now?

Our Spicy Garlic Noodles.

gulf shrimp, chicken, prosciutto, romano, roasted 3 shroom blend,
sweet vermouth butter sauce, arugula, rice noodles

Q. If you could eat one thing off your menu every day for a whole week, what would it be?

The Latin Fire Pizza. Cilantro, jalapeno cream, and avocado.. delicious!

Q. What do you like to make for yourself in your home kitchen?

I like to make fajitas with my family.

Q. When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

I like to try something new. As much as I enjoy cooking, I try to learn something unrelated.

Q. What’s been the most surprising thing you’ve learned during this quarantine?

To take time and spend it with my family. It feels nice to get to know them with more time together.

Q. What do you love most about working in Southlake Town Square?

I love the people.

Q. What’s an easy, quick recipe we can make at home that you can share with our community?

Pizza! It’s easy and you can make it your own with whatever you like.
